Dish Network Offers Programming Packages
For example, Dish Network offers programming packages starting at about $20 while cable packages start at around $70. Dish Network can also deliver well over 200 channels, while cable providers top out at around 100. Dish Network can deliver special seasonal sports subscriptions like MLB Extra Innings, ESPN Gameday, NHL on the Ice, and NBA League Pass, while cable just provides your local sports programming. Dish Network also lets you hook up extra televisions for no additional charge while cable bills you at upwards of an extra $5 per television. Dish Network offers free equipment upgrades to help you get a digital video recorder or HDTV. Cable doesn't bother.
So how is Dish Network able to deliver so much more while charging so much less money? The answer is simple: Dish Network doesn't rely on cables to deliver it's programming. Dish Network's digital television signals are sent from a broadcasting station on the Earth's surface up to satellites orbiting 25,000 miles above the equator. The satellites bounce the signals back to the Earth where they can be picked up by anyone who has a satellite dish and receiver capable of decoding them. The electromagnetic waves that carry the signals are essentially free and don't have any inherent limit on the amount of data they can carry. Cables on the other hand cost money to buy and install, and will always be limited in the amount of data they can carry. In other words, while cable companies struggle to improve their infrastructure to meet the constantly growing demand for more data intensive TV technology, Dish Network can simply concentrate on finding better ways to deliver that technology to it's customers.
Another advantage that Dish Network has is that it operates on a greater scale. Most cable companies are local affairs which means that each company operates in a limited area with limited customers. Those limited customers have to bear the brunt of all of the costs associated with running the business. Dish Network on the other hand is a nationwide company that spreads it's administrative costs out over it's 12 million customers. This means that Dish Network costs less to run for each customer than cable and the savings can be passed on to the customers and used to improve programming and technology. Also because of the fact that Dish Network's satellites are broadcasting their signals everywhere, there's no limit on the number of people who can sign up for the service. All you need to get Dish Network service is a place where you can set up a dish and aim it at a patch of sky to the south. But if you want cable TV service and you're too far out of town, you're simply out of luck.
To give credit where credit is due, cable providers are trying to catch up, but considering the disadvantages of their technology and their business model they're simply too far behind. Satellite TV companies like Dish Network will continue to move forward in meeting the high demands of television enthusiasts everywhere.

For All Your TV Needs, Dish Network Is The Best
When you really start to compare different TV companies, you will find that Dish Network is the only one that withstands the test of looking at the technologies the company can offer, the values it provides, and the service it brings to its customers. Dish Network has a huge following of satisfied customers and it is not very hard to tell why. No other company places such high value on making sure its customers get exactly what they need and want and no other company offers such reasonable prices on its services.
Keeping its customers happy is the reason why Dish Network recently unveiled a new service-
TurboHD. Because there has been such a clamoring for more programming in the format that provides more detail, better sound, and wide screened format, this company worked extremely hard to come up with the necessary technology to make more HD programming possible. Now, Dish Network TurboHD subscribers can enjoy up to 114 HD channels- the most impressive amount of HD on the market today. These channels are available in three different TurboHD packages- Bronze, Silver, and Gold- and there is also a separate Platinum package that is meant as an add on to any of the other packages and includes specialty HD channels. All of these TurboHD packages are priced in such a way that they are completely affordable as either stand alone packages or as extra programming along with an America's Top package. Either way, you are assured of getting plenty of entertainment to keep you happy and the best quality in the business.
Dish Network also keeps its customers happy by making sure its satellite receivers are always up to par with the latest advances. Because of its constant technological innovations, customers now have the option of choosing from over a dozen different receiver models. Each of these receivers is state of the art and provides the best of standard or high definition television, but some of these receivers are even better than others. The absolute best Dish Network receivers include DVR, which is the most popular TV device in the world today. DVR has completely changed viewer's relationships with their televisions and made it possible for even the busiest of people to enjoy their favorite shows. Dish Network's newest DVR models are even better than before with more room to store recorded shows and the ability to interface with external hard drives for even more storage.
Make sure to go about getting your TV service the right way. Choose Dish Network and let the best entertainment be delivered to your screen.

Dish Network offers satellite television receivers for everyone
Dish Network's basic model, the Dish 301 is a great choice if you're on a budget or just getting into satellite television. It feeds crystal clear standard definition digital television signals to a single TV. It comes with the Dish Interactive Electronic Program Guide (EPG) which lets you see what's on all of your channels hours in advance. It provides program information telling you what each show is about, who stars in it, what it's rated, and will often give you an idea of the theme or plot of the program. The Electronic Program Guide also lets you make favorites list of the channels you watch most so you won't have to sort through all of the programming to find the show you want to watch. It's also fully integrated with Parental Control Locks which let parents limit the programs their children have access to. Parents can block out specific programs, entire channels, and programming with certain MPAA ratings so they can have peace of mind when their kids are watching TV without supervision. The Dish 301 also features manual and automatic even timers, one touch channel return, closed caption support, and on screen Caller ID capability. It comes with a remote control that can be programmed to control up to three other home entertainment components and gives you full access to the Electronic Program Guide.
The Dish 322 has all of the same features of the Dish 301, but with the ability to feed separate television signals to a second TV in another room. It does this with the incorporation of a second tuner which connects to a cable that runs to the second TV. The second tuner and it's TV are controlled by a special remote that can send a UHF signal through walls and furniture so it can be in the same room as the second TV instead of the same room as the receiver. This means that the remote that controls the primary television and the remote that controls the second television never interfere with each other and the viewers of each television can watch separate programs. It's kind of like having a receiver for each television combined into the same box for added convenience.
For even more flexibility and convenience in television watching, the Dish Player-DVR 625 has all of the dual television capability of the Dish 322, but with the addition of a Digital Video Recorder or DVR for short. A DVR can record one program while you watch another or two at once while you're out, just like a VCR. Where a DVR is much different from a VCR though is the fact that it can record up to 100 hours of programming on a hard drive so that you don't have to worry about video tapes. It's also fully integrated with the Electronic Program Guide (which can display program information up to 9 days in advance on this model!) making it easy and intuitive to program. Unlike an old fashioned VCR. The biggest difference between a DVR and a VCR though is that with a DVR you can pause and replay live television.
Dish Network's ViP622 is the most advanced model they offer. It has all of the features of the Dish Player-DVR 625, but with the additional ability to display High Definition Television (HDTV) and record up to 200 hours of programming.
More information is always available through Dish Network's customer support, but hopefully this guide has given you enough information to ask intelligent questions so you can sort out which receiver is right for you.

The Pocket Dish line from Dish Network
The smallest PocketDISH, the AV402E is a wonder of miniaturized technology. At 4.2 inches wide x 2.4 inches high x 0.7 inches deep, it truly is pocket sized. It has an impressive 20 Gig HDD hard drive which can store up to 20 hours of video, 10,000 digital songs, and 200,000 pictures in JPEG format.
These big features in a compact size do come at a price however. The AV402E relies on headphones instead of built in speakers, it's screen is only 2.2 inches, it's lithium ion battery isn't removable, and unlike the larger models it doesn't have have a remote control or a docking station. It does however have a built in microphone.
The mid sized AV500E and the largest model, the AV700E, have many features in common that are more extensive than the AV402E's. They both have built in speakers and LCD screens with 16:9 aspect ratios. They come with remote controls, docking stations, and viewing stands. Both have removable lithium ion batteries which, with the use of a spare, allow for greater run time between recharges. Perhaps the most important feature that these models share is the ability to record video from sources other than DISH Network receivers. They can be connected to almost any cable box, satellite receiver, TV, DVR, DVD Player, or VCR to record video. Not only that, but when they record from other sources, the number of hours of video they can hold an increase by up to four times!
The AV500E's 30 GB HDD hard drive can hold up to 30 hours of DISH Network content (or up to 120 hours from other sources!), 15,000 songs, and 300,000 JPEG pictures. It's 4.8 inch wide x 3.0 inch high x 0.8 inch deep chassis has a 4 inch screen.
The AV700E can hold up to 40 hours of DISH Network programming (or up to a whopping 160 hours from elsewhere!), 20,000 songs, and 400,000 pictures in it's 40 Gig hard drive. It's 8.2 inches wide x 4.2 inches high x 0.8 inches wide and has a 7 inch screen.
With such great compact technology, we should all be on the lookout for what DISH Network will come up with next!

Dish Network Appreciates The Benefits of Technology
Dish Network Appreciates The Benefits of Technology
If you're the type of person who loves electronics, technology, and television, you'll also love Dish Network for the way it combines all of them to give you plenty of control over your digital world. Everybody knows that Dish Network provides the best television programming, but what really sets Dish Network apart from other television service providers is how it uses the technology at its disposal to give you the best television experience possible.
Dish Network's attention to technology begins with the basis for its television service. Satellite television technology took off in the early nineties with the introduction of the MPEG-2 data compression format. MPEG-2 allowed a massive number of channels to be transmitted via satellite to just about anywhere on the continent of North America without requiring the people receiving the signal to clutter their lawns with clunky ten foot wide satellite dishes. MPEG-2 also allowed the transmission of television signals in digital format which makes for a striking picture quality that's unrivaled by the old fashioned analog format. In fact, all of Dish Network's programming is transmitted in digital television format, so you don't have to worry about whether or not your favorite channel is among the select few.
Along with an unsurpassed picture clarity, digital television also allows Dish Network to deliver interactive features along with its programming. Dish Network's interactive features include access to local weather, sports coverage, and the ability to manage your account by doing things like paying bills and modifying your subscription. The most beneficial of Dish Network's interactive features and the one you'll probably use the most is the Electronic Program Guide. The Electronic Program Guide is an interactive menu of all the programming available on all of the channels in your subscription. There's one entry on the menu for each program available to you. The entry contains information about the program including its name, the year it was made, its MPAA rating if available, who stars in it, its run time, and often a short summary of the plot or description of the theme. The Electronic Program Guide can instantly take you to any channel and will show you what programs are available for you to watch up to nine days in advance depending on what type of satellite receiver you have.
Dish Network also provides extra types of electronics to its customers. For example, a Digital Video Recorder will go a long way toward giving you more control over your television experience. With a Digital Video Recorder, you can record movies and television shows even if you aren't at home or are otherwise occupied when they air. Then you can play them back to watch when it's convenient for you. A Digital Video Recorder may sound just like a VCR, but it's really a huge improvement. For one thing, it's much easier to program than a VCR. While with a VCR, you had to deal with poorly written instructions and an unintuitive interface, the Electronic Program Guide makes programming your Digital Video Recorder a snap. Another major difference is the fact that while a VCR records everything on a video cassette which can only hold a maximum of six hours of fuzzy video, a digital video recorder puts all of its recorded video content onto an internal hard disk which can hold a maximum of two hundred hours of video in its native digital format for the same clarity of picture and sound as the original broadcast.
All of these features and more make Dish Network the perfect television service provider for everyone who appreciates the benefits of technology.

Dish Network Offers Great Choices In High Definition Programming
Dish Network Offers Great Choices In High Definition Programming
Because high definition television is destined to become the standard television format in the near future, buying a high definition television set now is a great investment. Though its still too early in the development of HDTV to receive all your channels in the format, you now have quite a large number of choices. Dish Network has been paving the way for increased HDTV channels with a selection that is almost double that of any other provider and, because of this, you can choose from about 200 hours ofHD programming every day.
In order to receive HD programming, you need a special HD ready television and an HD receiver. Thisis necessary because standard equipment cannot handle the extra lines of resolution necessary to provide high definition and cannot support Dolby Digital sound (though high definition equipment can support standard definition programming). Once you have this equipment and have signed up for a HDprogramming package, you can start enjoying HDTV channels. All Dish Network HD programming packages contain a minimum of 25 HD channels and at least 80 standard definition channels. As you move up in levels you receive more standard channels and can add National Geographic HD and three premium HD movie channels. Because HD programming is surprisingly affordable, you will be able to opt for a higher level package than you might expect.
Once you have selected your equipment and programming package, you can sit back and enjoy the way HDTV envelopes you in the action. If you are a sports fan, you will want to invite all your friends over to watch the big games in full HDTV glory. ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD offer a wide diversity of games and insider info. Of course, you won't be able to catch everything you want on ESPN, so Dish Network also offers WorldSport, NFL Network, and Rush HD. Even though you'll want to watch as much as possible in HD, you will be able to watch most of the sports you can't get in HDTV on your standard channels.
With its wide screen format and high quality resolution, HDTV is the perfect format for viewing movies at home. Even the smallest Dish Network HD package offers quite a few choices in movie channels. Majestic HD, Universal HD, HDNet Movies, Film Fest, and World Cinema let you access a wide variety of movies to fit most moods. And Dish on Demand offers a reasonable selection of pay per view movies to watch at your convenience. Of course, if you subscribe to the Platinum package, you can also watch Starz HD, Showtime HD, and HBO HD.
Dish Network's HD programming is distinguished from other providers because of the general entertainment and news and variety programming offered. About half of the channels are dedicated to a wide assortment of programming, like TNT, CBS, Animania, Ultra HD, and Discovery HD. These channels offer a pleasing combination of entertainment and information for people of all ages. If you want to keep up-to-date on all your local happenings, you might also be able to receive local channels in HD.
Because Dish Network offers such a large assortment of HD programming, it is impossible to discuss all the channels in a short description. If you are interested in subscribing to one of the packages, Dish Network has full channel listings and descriptions of each HD channel to make it easy to decide which package you want.
